We are Forlak, a small-batch wine label based in Adelaide, South Australia; born from passion and purpose.

Pronounced ‘For-Lack,’ the name reflects not only our winemaking journey but the playful and organic process that led to it. As we embarked on our first vintage in 2022, we found ourselves with barrels full of wine but no name to call our own. In the spirit of humour and practicality, we labelled our barrels “For Lack” as a placeholder, reflecting our search for an identity. Over time, “Forlak” emerged—a name that symbolises both the origins of our story and the dedication we put into every bottle.

Each with backgrounds in commercial wineries, we’ve embraced a boutique, low-intervention approach to winemaking. We hand-pick fruit from our favourite vineyards, crafting naturally fermented wines that reflect our commitment to quality and authenticity. Each bottle is a testament to our craft and a celebration of the community we cherish.

About The Team

At Forlak, we co-lead the business, each bringing our unique expertise and passion. With backgrounds in hospitality, we understand the cultural relevance of wine and how it connects people and moments.

Declan brings his experience in viticulture, winemaking, and retail, with a deep commitment to crafting exceptional wines. Maddie combines her international winemaking experience and education in viticulture and oenology to ensure quality in every bottle. Marissa shapes our brand identity through her design and marketing skills, while Zach is a skilled winemaker and all-rounder, bringing hands-on expertise to every stage of production.

We’d also like to thank Guy Paul for his early contributions to Forlak. Guy has moved on to bigger and better things, but his influence will always remain in every glass we pour.
