The Collaboration
Like any true food and wine lover, we’ve spent countless hours savouring the offerings at Leigh Street Wine Room. This wine was born from a conversation over shared glasses at their bar, where our friendship with Ellie Coxwell, LSWR’s passionate sommelier, sparked the idea to create something special.
Crafted from Mencia grapes grown by our friends at Oliver’s Taranga in Seaview, this wine embodies a shared vision between Forlak and LSWR. Ellie was alongside us throughout the process, offering her insights and knowledge to ensure the final result captures the essence of our collaboration.
The label, inspired by LSWR’s unique location in an old dry cleaners, reflects the playful and creative side of this partnership. We thought it only fair that this fun, approachable wine was paired with an equally fun label.
In essence, this Mencia is a celebration of the McLaren Vale region, an ode to the delicious food and wine at Leigh Street Wine Room, and the vibrant, playful spirit of Adelaide’s small-producer wine scene.
